creation womb

In this wondrous book, Kim Alderman shares her relational consciousness, the way she joins her "bit of being" with Being. She makes rituals with clay, color, word, and images. Her words are inspirational, brave, deep. Her images are astonishing. I love them. They say "yes" to me as does the story she tells.

There is an old Japanese saying, that art is the animal but not the tracks. I take this to mean that objects of art are evidence of invisible experience but they are not the animal. Anima, from the "animales" for living and "anima" for soul. In this book both art and animal glow with authenticity, for which I am profoundly grateful and encouraged.

Finally, I can see the role of ritual in spiritual.

the receptive womb

The act of creation is the attempt to enter a mysterious realm, a longing to transcend.

My body is the receiving vessel, the sum total of my experiences, feelings and dreams. Information enters my body / vessel from what i call, "source energy." It enters through a filter that I create, both consciously and unconsciously.

The more I can take in and and the less I shape it, the closer I feel to nature.
